How important is a 'connection' for Celebrity FMG?

However there is something I have been wondering about for a while, how important is it for there to some kind of 'connection' when it comes to Celebrity or Fan Fic female muscle? By that I mean are most people more excited/interested  in seeing a picture featuring a favourite actress or comic book character compared to a generic muscle woman or someone they have never heard of. Some prominent FMG contributors have clear preferences, such as fondness for Patricia Heaton and Eden Sher as well as  's obsession with Bridgit Mendler (both of which I find completely incomprehensible as Nicola Roberts, Karen Gillan and Rachel Stevens are all clearly superior).

Personally I consider a connection to be a massive bonus when it comes to Celebrity or Fan Fic work.Any quick glance at my gallery would immediately show that I have my own favourites. More than that however I am always more interested in seeing muscular artwork featuring people or characters that I already know about and find attractive. Good celebrity or fan art also has an opportunity to feature in-jokes and references which further enhance the experience.

Conversely there are certain celebrities who I really do not like for various reasons, either because I regard them as not being particularly interesting (I am not fond of blonds for example), or because of what they have done. A good example being Sarah Palin who's politics I personally find repulsive. Therefore I am uninterested in any work featuring her, not matter how good it may be.

However I would wondering if anyone else had a similar views, and if they preferred seeing their favourite celebrities over random females.
